Now introducing Amelie Jane Facer

Becky gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Amelie Jane (like Emily but Am sound instead of Em) 8 lbs, 2 oz yesterday at 3:11 pm. She woke up that morning with small contractions. She had a appointment with her doctor later that afternoon at 12:30 and she was 5-6 cm! He told her to go straight over to labor and delivery. She made Mom and I take her to Quiznos first for a sandwich, funny girl. I ran the boys home and got a few things then drove back to the hospital. While I was parking my car my Mom called and said that I've got to hurry because she's at a 9! Becky was at a 9 for an hour. The nurse kept asking her if she felt like pushing and she didn't. The doctor finally came in and broke her water, then 10 minutes later that baby was out. Becky was amazing. She wanted to have at least one baby naturally and she accomplished that. She said she's glad she did it, but will never go without an epideral again. I can't imagine transition lasting that long... Ouch. When they broke her water there was meconium in the fluid so they had to get that baby out fast. Pushing a baby out without drugs in 10 minutes is something I never want to experience. I am so proud of my sister. She rocked this birth!! I feel so blessed that I got to be a part of the birth and am excited about the newest addition to the Kelley/Facer family!

I decided to just go ahead and drive home last night. I was pretty good. Carson slept most of the way and I never had to stop. La Canada-Fairfield in 4 hours 50 minutes is pretty darn good!

Still No Baby!

Becky is now 4 days overdue and I've been here for 1 1/2 weeks. I decided that I am going to drive back home tomorrow night baby or not. So, say a prayer that she'll come tonight! We haven't been doing too much here. It is rediculously hot, so we've been staying in doors. Carson is not a good sleeper when he is away from home, so neither of us have gotten much sleep. It's fun to spend time with my parents, and Becky, Ryan, and Oliver. Carson especially loves Uncle Ryan.

Regan, Pete, and Noelle flew in at the begining of the week to go to Disney Land. I drove them to the airport on Tuesday and we stopped at the beach for an hour. Noelle loved playing in the waves. I had to drive home from LAX at 5:00 pm...For all you that have done that before, I know you feel my pain...

Classic cousin picture, taking a bath together. Ollie is a little wild in the tub and Carson loves to pull hair, so it never lasts long.

Carson loves to play in my parent's yard. I can't keep him away from the dirt. Yum, yum. He was chewing on something for 10 minutes after this video. Not sure what he had in there, but he loved it!

And that is how it is done!

Update
Two 8 page papers handed in thus far for my Sonoma State classes... Scores: 95% and 99%. That's right...Smarty pants, I know...So, my question is how is it that I rarely got A's on my papers at Ricks and BYU, but always get them at SSU? Don't tell me all colleges are not created equally! (Thank goodness for that.)

By the way, I am still in La Canada and no baby yet. Becky is over her due date now, poor thing, but she doesn't want to be induced. I told her I will stay only until Monday- even if the baby hasn't come yet. I think Carson forgot what his Dad looks like!

What a wonderful time of year!

No, it is not because the season is changing and the holidays are just around the corner... It is season premiere time for all the networks. If the excitement of new episodes makes me a shallow person then so be it!

Bon Voyage Laura!

My darling sister Laura is leaving for her mission to South Korea on Tuesday. We were all in La Canada this weekend to say goodbye and see her off. She gave her farewell talk today and did a faboulis job. The whole fam is here minus Regan, Pete, and Noelle. We missed you guys! Everyone is flying back to their various locations tomorrow morning, but Carson and I are sticking around. Becky is due any day now and I really want to be here for the birth. Hopefully there will be some baby Facer pictures soon.
here is our family picture. We left a spot for Regan, Pete and Nellie. B is going to photo shop them in. I'll let you know how that turns out.
Dad and Carson. I love how he is cheesing it up!

Nothing like a baby's laugh!

Here's Carson watching Baby Einstein on the computer. I don't know why numbers rolling by on a train are so funny, but I guess I am not sophisticated enough for this kind of humor.

The newest addition to the Bonner family.

And no, it is not a baby. I got an incredible new street bike. That's right, I am now one of those bikers who thinks they are a car. I've been doing spin classes at the gym for the past few years and finally decided to take it outside. A friend of mine who is an avid biker bought a new bike and sold me hers. She and her husband usually do a 28 mile loop a few times a week, but I'm not ready for that yet. For the past two weeks I've been doing a 16 mile loop from my house to Lake Herman. I am slowly working up to the big one. I'll let you know when I get there. Man, what a workout! When I get home I have a hard time walking up my stairs. I've only fallen once so far. I have the click in shoes and you have to be really careful to un-click before stopping. This morning I only un-clicked one shoe and ended up falling over on the side where I hadn't unclicked yet. Anyways, it really hurt... I'll survive... I guess. Thanks Steve for watching Carson so I can get out and ride a few times a week.

Carson "The Big Kid" Bonner

Carson loves being around other kids, especially big kids. I take him to story time for 0-2 year olds at the library once a week. All the other kids sit on their Mom's laps and Carson crawls and climbs all over the other kids. He has no interest in kids his age and younger; he like the older, cooler kids. There is this play place at the mall where the ground is soft and all the things to climb on are soft. Carson loves it. He has no fear. He likes to put himself in the middle of all the action, which usually results in him getting trampled. You've gotta love boys.

Fires in La Canada

I've had a lot of phone calls and emails asking if my family is alright and if they had to be evacuated. They didn't and they are safe. They live further down the foothills. Scary though how close this fire is to them. Thank goodness that the Santa Ana's aren't blowing. If they were I don't think any of La Canada would still be there. The fire is moving more towards La Cresenta now. My mom said it hurts to breath and their eyes sting and burn all day long. Lets all hope that they get this fire under control soon and that the fire fighters and those who's homes are threatened are safe. NASA's JPL a half mile from my parent's house.

Can you imagine having this big, beautiful house with flames right in your back yard?
