11 Months

**Once again a photo disclaimer... The only place I can get Carson to be still and smile is on the stairs, holding on to the railing. So please forgive the bars. Also, I don't expect everyone to read all of this. It is more for me =).

I have four upper teeth now, six total. Mom loves my new toothy grin. I am so good at standing and do it all the time. I’ve started to take a few steps towards Mom or Dad while in the process of falling… At least I am trying it out. I’ve started talking a lot more. I am learning how to make new sounds and I love to hear myself screech and yell! Whenever I am in the bath or shower I scream as loud as I can. It sounds really cool because of the echo. I am so fast going up the stairs and LOVE to do it! The problem is I don’t know how to go down. Every time mom has taken me to the Kids Klub at her gym this month I’ve thrown a fit. They have to go find her to come and get me. Mom’s not sure why I am being such a stinker about it, because I love playing with other kids and am not afraid of strangers. I am finally sleeping through the night now! It only took two nights of crying myself back to sleep. Mom is in heaven! She says she should have done it months ago. I have a new obsession with my hair. I rub it and run my fingers through it all day long, especially when I am eating. I love to rub all my food in it. Speaking of food, I love it. My favorites are pears, lunchmeat, eggs, and of course- as always, Cheerios. I can eat an entire pear by myself in one sitting. My morning routine is always the same. After Mom nurses me I 1) pull the nightlight in my room out of the socket, 2) knock my fan over, and 3) pull all the books out of my book shelve. After those three things are done I’m ready for the day! One of the things I think is really funny is the hose attachment to the vacuum. I love the way the suction feels. Mom puts it on my tummy and hand and I just laugh and laugh. One of the other things I love to do is dunk my head underwater while I am taking my bath. I just do it for two seconds and come back up. Mom thinks it is pretty funny. I have no fear of the water. I am such a happy guy and get a kick out of life!

Lake Tahoe

Steve and I bought a timeshare a few months ago and finally got to use it. We went to Tahoe for 4 glorious days. It was beautiful. The perfect time of year. The leaves were changing, there was a slight chill in the air, and not too many tourists. Steve's parents joined us and it was fun spending time with them. We loved the condo we stayed in. It was a two bedroom with plenty of room. We spent our days hiking and exploring the area. I couldn't believe how blue and clear the water is! It will be great to go back in the summer so we can swim. Carson was ready to swim anyway. Why is it kids don't seem to care when water is freezing cold? The salmon are spawning this month which was really cool to see. Nothing beats spending time in nature, especially when you can end your day with a casino buffet dinner followed by a steaming dip in the hot tub!

Cheerios, Cheerios, and more Cheerios!

Who knew this would be what motherhood is all about? All day long I am either stepping on or sweeping up Cheerios. Before Carson I would sweep my kitchen floor maybe once a week. Now it is AT LEAST twice a day. I have a feeling this vicious cycle is not ending anytime soon...

10 Month Update

*Disclosure: He turned 10 months several weeks ago, but I haven't been able to get a good picture. He WILL NOT sit still, smile, and sit next to the card at the same time. So- this picture is as good as it will get. Forgive the blurriness.

I am in the double digits now. I weigh 22 lbs. 9 oz (66%) and I am 2 ft. 7 inches tall (96%). I am so active and I love to figure out how everything works. I continue to crawl and climb every chance I get. My balance is getting better and better. I have just started to realize that I can stand up on my own. I am still a little unsure about it, and slowly squat down when I’ve stood too long. Much to Mom’s pleasure I am a very good napper now. I take two long naps each day and sleep from 7:45 at night to 7:00 every morning. I still cry around half the time when I am put to bed, but it doesn’t last for long. I am still waking-up several times at night. Mom keeps threatening to cut me off at night. We'll see who wins... I love to ride in the car, go to stores, go to kids Klub at the gym, go to story time at the library, and play at the indoor mall play ground. I wear the ladies at Mom and Dad’s gym out! They are always chasing me around making sure I don’t hurt myself. The other day I climbed all the way to the top of the twirly slide. One of them had to come up and get me! I am going through a demanding stage right now. I want to be held or entertained all the time. Dad figured out that as long as he and Mom were not in the room I am pretty happy playing with myself. I am not scared of strangers at all. I go up to everyone and I never care who holds me. Just last week I got my third tooth. I’ve been eating more and more solids, but cheerios are still my favorite. Mom and Dad are always shocked at how much food I can eat with only a few teeth. I’ve started to fake laugh and a quite proud of myself. When Mom and Dad are laughing at something on T.V. I join in. If someone is trying to make me laugh, but I don’t think it is really that funny I will give them a curtsy laugh. Mom had to put locks on all the cabinets and toilets. I am still confused about why they don’t open and am sad I have no toilet water to play in. I can still flush the toilets and unroll all the toilet paper though! I also keep busy by emptying all the books out of the bottom shelves of the book shelves, opening and closing the DVD player and climbing in the bath tub and making sure all shampoos and soap are on the ground. Needless to say I have a very busy schedule!

Shellapalooza 2009!

Every year or so Shell puts on a concert for its employees and they call it Shellapalooza. So funny. Tuesday was it and we had a great time. We shared a babysitter with some friends and went to dinner before. They keep the bands secret until the show. We were lucky enough to have The Temptations and Chris Isaak. I love Chris Isaak, so this was a real treat for me! In the past the bands haven't been great- This is the best so far. The coolest part of the night was Steve won a $100 Nordstrom gift card. Between the bands they give out prizes and for some reason Steve has really good luck when it comes to that sort of thing. A new pair of jeans for me (or half a pair...) Life is good.
