Turning your blog into a book?
I promise there is a Christmas post coming, but I've got to get home first. Question to you all, has anyone turned their blog into a book? I want to do it and am wondering what company/website to use. Any suggestions would be welcome! Thanks.

What happens when your kid bites into a glass ornament?
Well, I'm glad you asked. They go straight to the ER for an x-ray and 3 hours later they are released. The joys of motherhood. This morning I was a a friend's house and Carson was playing with one of those bulb ornaments that we thought was plastic. Well, it wasn't and he ended up with a mouth full of glass. I'm so glad there were 5 of us there to hold him down, open his mouth, sweep his mouth, spray water in his mouth... He was very upset over being held down and harassed by all these moms. Carson had a blast at the hospital until the x-ray. Steve and I had to pin him down in various positions. I don't think we've ever heard him scream that loud before. Anyway, they didn't see any glass so everything turned out fine.I think it's funny they put his hospital bracelet over his jammies on his ankle. I had to take a picture.

Family Pictures
Our friend Brent took family pictures for us a few weeks ago. Thanks Brent. I love how they turned out. If only Carson would have cooperated!

Heaven help us all!
Carson's been taking a few steps here and there for the last few weeks. All the sudden it seems like something clicked and he realized that this walking thing might get him places quicker than crawling. There is no stopping him now... Wish me luck.P.S. the green balloon you might ask? He got it at Trader Joes earlier that day and insisted that it be tied to him all day long.

What would the world be like without David Archuleta?
My Aunt Jamie LOVES David Archuleta, and that is an understatement. This week she came to L.A. and took my Mom with her to his concert. It wasn't only his concert, but she got the special tickets where you have lunch beforehand with the diehard fans and you are able to meet him. Mom said that he was a very sweet guy and really enjoyed the concert. He really does have such an amazing voice. I had to post the picture. =)

Writing papers and cutting vinyl
I am so glad this week is over! My final classes were yesterday. I had to finish my two applied field projects (12 pgs each) and my portfolio. Well, they are done and handed in and I am officially done with my post graduate classes to received my level II California Credential for special ed. What a great feeling. All I have to do now is a CPR course and get all my paperwork in. What a ridiculous amount of hoops they put us through. It's a wonder that anyone in this state are going into teaching anymore. It is done and that is all that matters! I guess I'm still shocked with how little I can get done now compared to life without a kid. When he is awake he has to be constantly entertained. When he is asleep I'm lucky if I can put make-up on and do the dishes. He is so much fun, though, it is totally worth it =) I was in charge (I actually volunteered, won't do that again) of a Super Saturday craft day at church a few weeks ago. It was a lot of work, but I think everyone enjoyed themselves. The reason I volunteered was because we never do that sort of thing in our ward and I wanted to show everyone that it could be done and that it was fun. We did 6 crafts. Here are pictures of a few that we did. I found the nativity and countdown blocks online, but the frame was my creation. We just began decorating for Christmas today. Carson loves all the lights. Our tree isn't up yet. It will be funny to see what he thinks about that. This week is going to be another crazy one. I have a lot of vinyl I have to cut for various people for their Christmas projects. 80 separate vinyl sayings. Wish me luck!

Thanksgiving Break
This year we did Thanksgiving with my family. We met up at Zion National Park in Southern Utah. We had done this 4 years ago and had a blast! It is funny how things change. Back then there were only 2 in-laws and no grandkids. This time there were 4 in-laws, 5 grand kids (with 2 on the way) and one sister on a mission. We had a lot of fun. We stayed in cabins and spent our time hiking, 4-wheeling, horseback riding, playing card games, and enjoying our time together. Angel's Landing is always a fun hike. Poor Dad. He rolled his 4-wheeler and was thrown. He landed pretty hard on his back. My Mom made him go to the ER today and he fractured his 4th vertibre. He'll be fine, it's just going to take a few months to heal. Anyway, Steve and I realized that Southern Utah is REALLY FAR for us. We drove straight to Vegas on the way there and spent the night at our time share, which is really nice and we can't wait to get back. It was another 3 1/2 hours the next morning. On the way back we hit horrible traffic south of Vegas and ended up staying at Whiskey Pete's in Primm for the night. It was kind of fun though. My parents and the Facers stayed there too. They have great outlets and a hot tub. Sunday morning we drove to my parents house. That weekend was my 10 year high school reunion and I missed it because we were out of town. Sunday there was a picnic at the park for families so we went to that. It was a pretty sad turnout, but I was able to see a few friends that I hadn't seen in a while. I guess there is always the 20 year, right? We left at 7:00 pm and thought we'd be okay. We were wrong. It usually takes 5 hours to drive home, and it took us 8 last night. There were times on the 15 that I just put the car in park. It really sucked... So we had a fun Thanksgiving, but decided that we will never drive to Utah again for such a short trip!

12 Months
I am a year old, yippy! Mom and Dad can’t believe that it was only a year ago that I came into this world. They are so lucky to have me. I said my first word, “Dada”. When Dad comes home from work I say Dada over and over. Yesterday morning Mom came and got me out of bed and I looked around and said Dada and she had to remind me that he was a work. I still haven’t said Mama, poor Mom. I can make so many cool sounds with my mouth. I talk all the time in my own little language. I can take a few steps on my own and am getting gutsier every day. I also have learned how to go down the stairs, feet first. Good thing, because I have had a couple of near-death experiences…Mom is so glad I know how to go down safely now. I love to play chase. Whenever I get my diaper changed or when I’m stripped down to get into the tub I love to escape and crawl around necked until Mom or Dad catches me and tickles me. I am so ticklish. I love to be tickled all the time. I continue to be VERY BUSY. I get bored easily so Mom has to constantly entertain me. I love to play rough. I like to wrestle and climb all over Mom and Dad. I like to give slobbery kisses and pull their hair. I love to snuggle. Mom and Dad left me with Grandma Kelley for two days so they could have a break. I did not like that at all! I was very upset and cried for most of the two days. Ever since then I’ve made sure that Mom isn’t out of my site. She’s not going to do that to me again if I can help it! When I was at Grandma’s she fed me popcorn and now it is my FAVORITE thing to eat. When I hear it popping in the microwave I get so excited. I could eat an entire bag all by myself if Mom let me. I drink big-boy milk now. I don’t nurse anymore. Mom loves it and I like cow’s milk and bottles. I refuse to hold my own bottle when Mom is putting me to sleep. She has to hold it so I can play with my hair. I am very particular about certain things. Every day is an adventure. I love life and can’t wait to live another year of it!
Happy Birthday Carson
This is the first of a few birthday postings. Today is Carson's birthday, but we are having his party on Sunday, so more pictures to come. I can't believe my little guy is one! The cheesy line all parents say "you don't understand a parents love until you are a parent" well, it's totally true. It's hard to even describe how much I love this boy. Whenever I think about it I am just overwhelmed with such emotion and my heart is so full. I want to play with him, cuddle him, make him laugh, and be with him all the time. I love to wake up every morning and see the world through his eyes. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to be a Mom!

Just a suggestion for all you bloggers
We can improve blogspot one blogger at a time!
So here's the thing... I hate doing word verifications when I want to leave a post. If I have to type in a word verification I usually end up not commenting at all. So I am begging you from one blogger to another check to see if yours does it and if it does change it! Here's how:

So nice to just get away...
Last week Steve and I decided it would be fun to head down to Oceanside and stay at our timeshare for a few days. So Wednesday we packed the kid up and drove. We dropped Carson off at my parents house and were on our own for two days. Thanks Mom!!! Steve and I had a great time childless, but poor Carson... Mom said he was traumatized over the whole ordeal. This kid is in for a sad surprise when we leave him for 7 days in April for Hawaii. Anyway- The weather was beautiful. We took walks on the beach and got sun out by the pool. Our friends Laurel and Ryan were even able to join us for a day. We spent the rest of the weekend at my parents house and had fun with Ollie and his new baby sister Amelie.

Is your man a "real man"?
Only a real man will dress-up in a full bunny suit for the greater good (greater good being the creation of a sweet bunny family for a costume party.) You rock.

11 Months
**Once again a photo disclaimer... The only place I can get Carson to be still and smile is on the stairs, holding on to the railing. So please forgive the bars. Also, I don't expect everyone to read all of this. It is more for me =).
I have four upper teeth now, six total. Mom loves my new toothy grin. I am so good at standing and do it all the time. I’ve started to take a few steps towards Mom or Dad while in the process of falling… At least I am trying it out. I’ve started talking a lot more. I am learning how to make new sounds and I love to hear myself screech and yell! Whenever I am in the bath or shower I scream as loud as I can. It sounds really cool because of the echo. I am so fast going up the stairs and LOVE to do it! The problem is I don’t know how to go down. Every time mom has taken me to the Kids Klub at her gym this month I’ve thrown a fit. They have to go find her to come and get me. Mom’s not sure why I am being such a stinker about it, because I love playing with other kids and am not afraid of strangers. I am finally sleeping through the night now! It only took two nights of crying myself back to sleep. Mom is in heaven! She says she should have done it months ago. I have a new obsession with my hair. I rub it and run my fingers through it all day long, especially when I am eating. I love to rub all my food in it. Speaking of food, I love it. My favorites are pears, lunchmeat, eggs, and of course- as always, Cheerios. I can eat an entire pear by myself in one sitting. My morning routine is always the same. After Mom nurses me I 1) pull the nightlight in my room out of the socket, 2) knock my fan over, and 3) pull all the books out of my book shelve. After those three things are done I’m ready for the day! One of the things I think is really funny is the hose attachment to the vacuum. I love the way the suction feels. Mom puts it on my tummy and hand and I just laugh and laugh. One of the other things I love to do is dunk my head underwater while I am taking my bath. I just do it for two seconds and come back up. Mom thinks it is pretty funny. I have no fear of the water. I am such a happy guy and get a kick out of life!

Lake Tahoe
Steve and I bought a timeshare a few months ago and finally got to use it. We went to Tahoe for 4 glorious days. It was beautiful. The perfect time of year. The leaves were changing, there was a slight chill in the air, and not too many tourists. Steve's parents joined us and it was fun spending time with them. We loved the condo we stayed in. It was a two bedroom with plenty of room. We spent our days hiking and exploring the area. I couldn't believe how blue and clear the water is! It will be great to go back in the summer so we can swim. Carson was ready to swim anyway. Why is it kids don't seem to care when water is freezing cold? The salmon are spawning this month which was really cool to see. Nothing beats spending time in nature, especially when you can end your day with a casino buffet dinner followed by a steaming dip in the hot tub!
