It's a Boy! (for sure)

I had an ultrasound at 13 weeks and the tech said it looks like a boy, but it is pretty early. I had another one at 16 weeks and she said she couldn't tell. Well, now at 20 weeks and one 4D ultrasound later we found out it is a boy for sure. He wasn't participating in the photo shoot, but here is one that I thought was cool. I love his little hands.

**By the way I added more pictures to the post below for all those interested.

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa Kelley

We are in La Canada this weekend visiting family. My brother Brian and his wife Amanda and their two kids are visiting from Florida so we decided to come down. We went to the Wedge at Newport on Saturday and then swimming at Becky and Ryan's pool. Monday was my 29th birthday! We went to a cool mummy exhibit, ate at a Brazilian restaurant and had Coldstones ice cream cake. It would have been a perfect day except for the 6 hour drive home!

Last year in my 20's!

Carson snuck my mascara and we found him "cleaning" his ears with it like a Q-tip. His ear is still completely black inside.

Little boys and toilets

We have had a clogged toilet for almost a week now. I tried all I knew to do, basically plunging it, and it wouldn't flush. It wasn't clogged for yucky reasons, luckily, that would have gotten very stinky. What it was was I had seen Carson flushing paper (printing paper) down and thought that is what it must have been. Steve didn't understand why it was so bad to only have 2 toilets instead of 3, but with much persistence from me we proceeded to conquer the problem during nap time. It didn't take long for Steve to figure out that there was something stuck in the hole. Anyway, after a lot of maneuvering and using screwdrivers to dislodge it we got it! It was the top to a hairspray can. It fit PERFECTLY in the hole, I mean when I first felt down there I thought it was a part of the toilet design. I guess it was too much of a temptation for Carson. We try to keep bathroom doors shut all the time, but after that I think we'll both try to be a little more diligent.

Come on California!

Prop. 8 was overturned a few days ago. I don't even want to touch on my views for or against prop 8 (same sex marriage)- I don't feel like that is the point right now. What I am frustrated and angry about is why do we have a democracy and have the right to vote if it doesn't matter at all? Same sex marriage was voted against in 2000  and again in 2008 and yet it has been overturned once again. Why ask the people what they want if it doesn't matter? I feel like a small child and my parents are just humoring me, making me feel like I'm a big kid, when clearly they don't think I am old enough to make my own decisions. It's just ridiculous. How long is this cycle going to go on for? Sorry for my political rant, I'm annoyed. Does this bother anyone else?

WHAT A NIGHTMARE! (don't let the smile deceive you)

I wanted to get some pictures of Carson taken in his swim suit. I thought it would be a fun thing to do for the summer--blond hair, tan skin, flip flops... Boy, was I wrong. He was out of control! Running out of the studio like a wild man laughing the whole way, tearing down the backdrops, throwing props, refusing to be still for the camera, you name it. He wasn't upset or anything. Quite the contrary he had the time of his life. Did I really think it was going to go any differently you ask? No, not really. I was hoping that wishful thinking would get me through this one and it did not. They end up only showing me 6 pictures (which tells you how bad the shoot went). This was the only cute one. The bummer is you can't even see his swim suit! Oh well... All of you that say "he's just a boy!" Whatever. I rarely see boys that are this busy and non-stop. Please pray for me that my next one will be a calming influence on him. All you moms of two boys stop laughing right now! I think I am just a little frazzled because his 3 hour nap was a 1 hour nap today. Luckily I have a baby shower to go to tonight and Steve gets to take over. Thank Heaven's for girlfriends and husbands!

Vacuum

This is from a couple of months ago and I'm pretty sure I never posted it. Carson loves the suction of the vacuum hose. He has since he was little little. Funny boy, he would do this for hours if I let him. Notice his mouth is already red as can be. I promise you I don't let him do it too much!
