August Videos

Here are a few videos I had to post. This one is Carson in his treehouse, trying to stay awake in his chair.

Helping Mom make cookies (or eat cookie dough, it matters which way you look at it.)

Luke was so cute outside playing with the hose sprinker that I ran to get the video camera. Of course once I started filming Carson wanted to get in on the action. (A timeout was given once the camera was off...)

The Treehouse is Done!

Carson had been begging for a treehouse for a while. We didn't really have a tree for it and told him it wouldn't work. Steve being the engineer he is thought it over and figured out a way.

The boys were great helpers during the process...

Luke was in HEAVEN helping me paint. By the time I got my camera out he decided it wasn't as fun. (I think it had something to do with paint not tasting too good.) I had to snap a few pictures anyway.

Carson wanted to make a flag. He told me what to draw. Our names, hand tracings. the family portrait including his teddy bear and our fish, and an apple tree.

I painted one wall with chalk board paint.
In other news we had to chop down a huge tree in our backyard. It was pushing up the concrete in our neighbor's backyard. Luckly it wasn't the tree the treehouse was in! Carson and Luke loved watching the guys cut it down. Very exciting to little boys. There is less shade now and more wind, but it does make the yard look bigger. Plus there is less ivy for us to control now.

We are rockin' diversity here in Fairfield!

Most And Least Diverse Cities: Brown University Study Evaluates Diversity In The U.S.

Check out this new study from Brown University. It looks like we won the most diverse city in the U.S. Way to go Fairfield. Believe you me, we are!

Water World

Steve's parents flew in from Washington for a visit. Yesterday we took them to Water World. It was a nice, hot day and we all had a lot of fun.
Floating down the lazy river. Grandma helped steer us.

Carson is now over 42" (translation: tall enough for the Big Kahuna!) We did it three times.

Snuggles with Mom to keep warm in the shade

I love Carson's face in this one
