Defeat

I'm done. I give up. No more potty training. I think we are going to take a break. We are at the point where I put him in underwear and sit him on the toilet every 1 1/2 hrs. Sometimes he argues, sometimes not. More than half the time he goes when I put him on. He earns a sticker for his chart. A certain amount of stickers = a toy. You get the picture. And yes, the prizes are cool and he gets to pick them out.

The problem is he uses his underwear the exact same way he uses his diaper. He'll just pee in it. He doesn't care if he is wet or not. He likes getting stickers/prizes, but if he could choose he would choose peeing his pants over a toy. (FYI It's been about a month of this.)

It seems like the general mommy population is of two minds about it.
     1) Don't back track or give up. Keep with it and you'll get there eventually.
     2) Don't push it. He will do it when he is ready. No point in forcing the issue until he is ready.

What do you all think? What should I do? The kid is 3 1/2 years old for heaven sake.

Father & Sons Camp Out

Steve took Carson to Father & Sons for the first time this weekend. It was at Lake Solano so Carson came prepared with his "Cars" fishing pole. He got it a few days earlier and hadn't put it down, yes that included sleeping with it. Apparently fishing wasn't as cool as he thought it would be do to the fact that no one was catching fish, but Steve said he had a ball regardless.

Luke and I did some shopping at the outlets. He's not the best shopping buddy, but one kid is easier than two when it comes to shopping. Then we met some friends at Fenton's for a birthday dinner and ice cream.

Strawberries, yum yum!

I went in the backyard yesterday afternoon to check on Luke and Carson and found  Luke chowing down on strawberries off of our strawberry plants. If I had to guess he had eaten a dozen or so. He was pretty pleased with himself.

 Steve has been working long hours for the past few weeks so the boys and I decided to head to my parents' house. I was nervous about the drive, but they did really well. (Fingers crossed for the way back.) My parents both have season passes to Disneyland so I got one for Carson too. They went a few days ago and had a blast. A half day at Disneyland is perfect for a 3-year-old as well as for Grandparents. I left the picture taking up to my Dad and this is all he brought me...To his defense his cell went dead. Oh well, next time they'll get some good ones!
